Rights and access
Publication-series catalog only. No entire-run scan-hosting permission established. Linked copies remain subject to their source terms.
The Hoyan was the printed bulletin of the Hoya Society International, edited by Christine M. Burton. This series record catalogs our issue holdings, reading links and acquisition gaps.
Holdings checked: October 21, 2026. Copies held for research are distinguished from copies cleared for public reproduction.
The Hoyan: original printed journal
Our collection currently includes issue scans catalogued as Volume 5, Number 3 (Winter 1984), Volume 12, Number 1 (July 1, 1990), and Volume 23, Number 3 (January 1, 2002). The first two files each contain 33 scanned pages; the third contains 13. Page counts describe our copies and do not certify that every insert or separately paginated part is present.
We also hold a two-page Hoya compacta treatment attributed to Volume 12, Number 2. It is an excerpt, not a complete issue, so that issue remains on our missing list.
Printed-series checklist
The checklist below uses Volumes 1–23 and the journal’s quarterly issue pattern as a working acquisition framework. We still need to reconcile early numbering, combined issues, supplements and separately paginated parts against original issues or a complete index. “Sought” means no complete issue copy is identified in our current catalog; it does not prove that every listed number was published separately.
Original The Hoyan: research holdings and acquisition gaps
We have not established permission to host the full printed series. Existing online scans linked above carry their host’s restrictions against reprinting, sale and distribution. We welcome information identifying the current rights holders and any documented grants covering an online archive.
Help complete the collection
We welcome leads to digital copies of missing issues, complete contents lists, supplements and clearer scans. Information about the current rights holders, past reproduction grants and who can authorize an online archive would be especially helpful. A person who owns a set may be able to help locate copies even when publication permission belongs to someone else.
Hoya Library separates a source from the claims made from it. Citation details identify the publication; linked findings and treatments show how it is being used; archive notes state what has actually been checked. Corrections and stronger evidence can therefore be added without hiding earlier interpretations.
If you have a clearer scan, a missing page, or a correction to this citation, please share the source details and page reference with Hoya Library.
