Understanding source coverage

The Source Library is a growing research collection, not a complete bibliography. Coverage describes the material reviewed for a particular Hoya and research scope. No coverage scores are available yet.

What coverage labels mean

Indexed
The relevant material has been reviewed, extracted and linked for the Hoya in question.
Acquired
The Library has lawful access to a copy, but the relevant material has not been fully indexed.
Known
The source is identified, but a relevant complete copy has not been acquired. A partial copy may be available; its limits are recorded separately.
Referenced
Another record mentions a probable source whose citation still needs identification.
No copy currently known to the Library
A reviewed search has not located a surviving copy. New leads can change this assessment.

A source can be indexed for one Hoya while work on another remains incomplete. Partial scans, translations, restricted access and unverified transcriptions limit what a record can support. A catalog entry alone does not mean a source has been fully indexed.

Research access and publication rights

Having or indexing a copy does not mean we can publish it. Restricted scans remain restricted. Source records identify available reading links and relevant access or reuse limits.

Help close a source gap

A citation, repository link, missing page, translation or historical document can help. Include the Hoya name, title or wording as printed, author and date if known, where you found it, and any rights or access limits. Contribute a source lead for private review. Submitting material does not grant permission to publish a scan.

A source mentioning a Hoya and an image depicting it are different relationships. Read about source illustrations in the Media Index.
