Rights and attribution

Hoya Research Library credits the people and institutions behind its sources, images, and observations. Credit does not by itself grant permission to reproduce a work. Before we display material, we review the permission, license, public-domain basis, or other documented basis for that specific use.

Credit and reuse

Source records identify their authors and publication details when known. Image details show the creator and approved reuse terms. Credit alone does not grant permission, and public display does not mean a work is openly licensed. Follow the terms stated with each image or source; if further reuse is not permitted, contact its rights holder. We may provide a citation and link without reproducing the work.

Contributing material

Submitting material starts a private review. Tell us its creator, rights holder, origin, preferred credit, and restrictions. Submission is separate from permission to display, adapt, redistribute, or include material in a public download; each use is reviewed individually. Discuss restrictions on sensitive locations or private correspondence before sharing. See Contribute for submission guidance.

Request a correction or removal review

Anyone can report a rights or credit concern or request a correction, reuse review, or removal of public display. Use the rights, privacy, credit, or removal form and include the affected URL or Image ID and requested change. Contact details and supporting documents enter private review. We may temporarily restrict disputed material while investigating and preserve its review history.
