The BCSS Teesside Branch gallery describes a vigorous plant with relatively large, glossy, flecked leaves under the name Hoya carnosa cv. Sweet One. It reports that the plant had been received as H. bandaensis and was subsequently identified as McDonald’s cultivar following Christine M. Burton’s advice.

This is an undated account of one cultivated plant and its label history. It supplies no documented propagation link to McDonald’s original selection and does not establish H. bandaensis as a synonym of Sweet One. Its wording about the availability of H. bandaensis is retained as historical context rather than a current species-status finding.

The gallery photograph is credited to John Ellis. The page explicitly requires permission from the branch and photographer before reproducing its images, including on websites. No photograph is reproduced here.
