Dale Kloppenburg, The World of Hoyas: A Pictorial Guide, Volume I file. The file carries the literal statement “First addition published fall 1999” and names Hill-n’-dale Publishing, Fresno, California.
What this file contains
This 48-page file contains the title and preliminary matter plus printed pages 1–33. It covers general Hoya ecology and distribution, a historical country-by-country name list, seed dispersal, propagation, cultivation, morphology and grafting. The larger work continues beyond this file.
Habitat evidence
The book gives a broad author account of Hoyas in humid multi-layered forests, commonly as epiphytes in branches or crowns, and discusses forest edges, canopy gaps, trails, streams, limestone and a wide elevation range. These are qualitative generalizations without a defined genus-wide sample, so they are not presented as universal habitat preferences or cultivation prescriptions.
Two named accounts are structured separately. On Upolu, the author reports his most intensive wild Hoya growth in a cultivated taro field among rotting forest trunks and small trees retained for shade. At Sungai Siput in Perak, he reports that stream-bordering jungle associated with Hoya rufolanata or a closely related species had been destroyed by tin dredging. Neither account supplies coordinates, a survey date or a sampling design.
Conservation and distribution limits
The regional species list is historical author compilation, not a verified modern distribution database. Statements that Hoya trukensis might be extinct and that the Sungai Siput plant was unlikely to have survived are retained as historical assessments, not current conservation status.
Cultivation and image boundaries
Propagation, potting, pest-control and grafting passages are author guidance rather than controlled comparative evidence. Contributor credits do not establish image-by-image ownership or permission for public reuse, so this page republishes no book images.
Archive and sequence
Volume I has been reviewed page by page and archived with its extraction record. Volume II is also complete. Volumes III–V remain queued for sequential extraction.
