Hoya Library is building tools for growers to keep a useful history of their plants and help answer questions about Hoya cultivation. The collection features described here are planned; personal accounts and My Collection are not open yet.
A collection that remembers
When My Collection opens, you will be able to add a Hoya from its page and revisit its history. The planned statuses are Wishlist, Growing, Flowered, Propagating, Mastered, and Lost. Flowering and propagation can overlap with growing. A lost plant will remain in your history. “Mastered” is a personal marker, never a scientific credential.
You will be able to record dated observations such as flowering, propagation, growing conditions, and changes over time. Your collection will be private unless you choose to share an eligible view. A collection note will not automatically become a public research claim.
How grower experience can help
A Hoya page may eventually show defined, anonymized community counts and carefully reviewed patterns. Those will show their sample and scope, include losses where relevant, and remain labeled as community evidence. The Library will not publish sample numbers or expose a private grower’s details to make a chart.
Research questions may invite relevant growers to contribute an observation. Contact for research will require a separate opt-in; an account, a public profile, or a past contribution will never grant that permission by itself.
Discuss Hoya questions
When discussions open, a member’s post may point us toward a source, but quotation, republication, and image use will need separate rights and privacy review. See rights and attribution.
We are testing a private discussion space. The planned community will let members discuss a question from a Hoya page or browse broader topics, reply, mention eligible members, and choose which notifications they receive. Discussions will be moderated. A post can point a curator toward evidence, but it will not change a research page or become a verified finding without review. Public registration and discussion are not open yet.
Contribute now
You can already submit an observation, source, correction, or photograph. Contributions enter private review. Accepted material is incorporated into governed records before an eligible page changes. You may choose how public credit appears; your contact details remain private.
Public contributor profiles, shareable collection views, notifications, and community insights will appear only after the needed consent, privacy, identity, and review controls have been tested.
