Michael Green’s article in Stemma 7(1), pp. 3–10, reconstructs the history of B.L. Cobia Inc. using historical material and an interview with Robert Cobia. It associates ‘Tricolor’ with KRIMSON QUEEN and ‘Rubra’ with KRIMSON PRINCESS (p. 3) and places Rubra among the nursery’s patented Hoya introductions (p. 4).
This is a retrospective nursery history. Its historical name association does not authenticate every living plant now sold under either name. The article, reproduced archival material and interview testimony have different evidential roles; they are not independent controlled cultivation studies.
Use in the Library
The carnosa page and its Rubra profile use the historical naming discussion on pp. 3–4. The carnosa page also discusses the retrospective irradiation account on p. 7. Source images and article text are not reproduced here. The complete original issue and a separate extraction are retained in the research archive.
Evidence scope and limits
Complete original issue and extraction filed; article-level scope pp.3–10. Distinct from the existing Randal section-Hoya component Source.
