Dale Kloppenburg, “The World of Hoyas: A Pictoral Guide (book),” author blog post dated 27 February 2017. Author page.

What this source is

This is an introduction and access page, not the book itself. It describes a five-file work said to contain more than 100 Hoya species, color flower photographs, actual-size foliage photocopies and descriptions. The page prints “First addition published fall 1999” and names Hill-n’-dale Publishing in Fresno, California. That wording is retained rather than silently corrected.

Image and field statements

Kloppenburg credits many flower photographs to Ann Wayman, some to Ted Green and some to himself, and describes making foliage images by placing living vines or branches on a copier. These credits do not establish individual image ownership or permission for public reuse.

The page also contains a broad autobiographical account of study and collecting travel across the Pacific, Southeast Asia and the Philippines. It does not pair a Hoya taxon, specimen, date, coordinate or habitat with any locality. The statement that only Dischidia—not Hoya—was found during unspecified searching on Guam and Yap does not establish regional absence.

Volume extraction status

Volume I and Volume II have now been reviewed page by page. Volume II adds six source-bounded Places and seven Habitats while retaining historical locality, identity, abundance, climate and cultivation uncertainty. Volumes III–V remain queued for sequential extraction. No Place, Habitat, Climate or taxon-occurrence record was created from this index page itself.
