How the Library handles rights and attribution

In this interview in Asclep-Hoya No. 3, dated July–December 2008, Mark Randal describes becoming interested in Hoyas after buying a plant labelled Hoya compacta in 1999. The heading spells his surname “Randall”; the opening answer uses “Randal”. Doris Lecault is credited as translator. The interview date and an earlier original-language publication are not identified.

Randal describes studying flowers and botanical literature, obtaining plants from other growers, and reducing his collection to fit the time available. He also gives his own account of wanting Stemma to provide a more impartial place for discussion. This is his reported motivation, rather than independent evidence of the journal’s founding date.

The complete three-page interview has been factually extracted. His cultivation methods, pest-treatment experiences, favorite plants and fragrance descriptions remain attributed testimony and opinions. No general care recommendation or present-day plant identity is established. Contact details and source photographs have not been reproduced.
