The registrar treats Hoya carnosa Variegata as a distinct clonal cultivar within the Hoya carnosa Variegated Group. That position is more specific than assigning a plant to a group because its leaves are variegated.

The profile is a modern registrar interpretation rather than a primary witness to nineteenth-century events. Historical chronology, authorship and typification interpretations require their own checks; a similar leaf pattern does not establish a modern plant’s propagation history. No historical illustrations or exemplar images are reproduced.
