Name assessment

The registrar account accepts Hoya carnosa ‘Marginalis’ as an established cultivar name. It distinguishes the pale border of Marginalis from the longer-lasting red-family colouring described for Regalis, which the patent records as a sport of Marginalis.

The account explicitly corrects its omission of Marginalis from the 2022 Stemma Compacta article. An absence from that earlier article therefore does not establish that the historical cultivar name was invalid or that Marginalis and Regalis were one cultivar.
