What was studied
The authors purposively explored 16 locations in May 2015, June 2016 and November 2017: seven heath forest, five beach, two mixed forest and two fruit-tree agroforest locations. They reported five species across Belitung Island and nearby small islands. These records document occupied survey sites; they do not estimate complete island-wide abundance.
Methods and Table 1 describe seven heath locations; the narrative says six and names Limau Manis, which is absent from Table 1 and the map. Table 1 calls the Seliu Island 2 H. verticillata population medium, whereas the narrative calls it large. The abstract and detailed habitat section attribute the climate summaries differently. The detailed attribution is used on the habitat pages, with the conflict retained. Ant presence does not establish mutualism, and the source’s “saprophyte” wording does not demonstrate saprotrophic nutrition. Habitat “preference” statements are author interpretations from purposive exploration, not tested selection or cultivation requirements.
How do we know this?
Hoya Library separates a source from the claims made from it. Citation details identify the publication; linked findings and treatments show how it is being used; archive notes state what has actually been checked. Corrections and stronger evidence can therefore be added without hiding earlier interpretations.
If you have a clearer scan, a missing page, or a correction to this citation, please share the source details and page reference with Hoya Library.
